My 2 cents on writing music and everything that goes on around it.

Conducting at Union Chapel 25 Nov 2014

Last week involved a bit of recovery from Friday 14th's show with Chozen Official at the Union Chapel in Islington. With light rehearsal, backing mixes, a dance performance, 10 minutes of new music for string octet, and an opera singer as well as three other guest vocalists to prepare for the show, rehearsals were a tad on the frantic side. Below is a lovely picture from rehearsals at the venue on the day of the show that nonetheless makes it look like a serene effortless performance.

There'll be more pictures to come and in due course some audio and video - James Welch was on hand to record the whole show and Philly Driven Riddim's crew were filming the show as well as a behind-the-scenes documentary.

Highlight for the audience undoubtedly was Sell My Soul, whose killer hooks and rhythms, courtesy of producer Sky Adams, we adapted from C minor to A minor in honor of guest soprano Teresa De Roberto, who provided a touch of Anglo-Italian opera icing to an already fine musical cake.
