My 2 cents on writing music and everything that goes on around it.

Orchestration for CHOZEN 14 Feb 2014 My arrangements for urban artist CHOZEN's upcoming live show at The Tabernacle have just come back from the printers. I've just finished arranging the nine tracks for piano and strings, which will be performed live on April 17th. The tracks include a baroque/dubstep mashup, an epic trip hop anthem and some really hard-hitting, anthemic dubstep.

Parts and Score ready for rehearsals
The first rehearsal is on Monday 17th February and I'm really looking forward to hearing the parts come alive in context. We're testing out clip-on microphones for the string players to give us greater flexibility in the live mix. Hopefully we can get everyone clearly heard alongside drum kit, guitar, bass and synths!

Tracklisting for the show with durations
I'm excited to see what the musicians make of the arrangements. The string section includes Stephanie Cavey, who's worked with Adele (on "21") and Cee Lo Green. Producer Roy Merchant, who has been preparing the demo mixes and deciding on backing parts, has also worked with Dizzee Rascal, Wiley, Ed Sheeran and Basement Jaxx. Older Post Home Newer Post
